‘The Present’ questions why we look others’ disabilities differently

'The Present' challenges how we view disabilities in others.

Winner of 59 film festivals around the world, The Present was uploaded online and in two weeks has been watched over five million times on Vimeo.

There’s something about irony that conveys an inexplicable message like no other way, and in this short film – which has played at more than 180 festivals world wide – it questions why we are sometimes uncomfortable by people who are different to us.

The film by Jacob Frey adapted from a Portuguese comic strip titled “Perfection” wins votes because it tugs at the heartstrings with its cute and very well done animations. Meanwhile its overt attitude towards disability is simply powerful.
